Trained Panels

The value of a trained panel is its ability to describe objective product differences in detailed sensory terms. It can help you in innovation, quality or product development processes. Trouble-shooting by a trained panel before a product launch with the goal of fine-tuning the product for the greatest impact and financial return may save a considerable amount of money and development time in the long run.
Examples: Which taste aspects changed in a formula ? What product characteristics should be improved? What is an unique direction for further taste development? Is there a risk introducing a new formula which should be validated by consumer testing?

Consumer Panels

A consumer panel is useful for evaluative research (preference research). Consumers, unable to make an objective evaluation, are very valuable for reporting their subjective reaction to different products.
Examples: How does the consumer evaluate and appreciate the product ? Which product is preferred and why ? Are all marketing mix elements in line with the product taste experience, etc ... .

OPTI-SENSE

By combining the power of expert and consumer research, we can confidently advise on the modifications to implement.
Optimisation is a powerful tool that reduces the risk in the NPD process, and speeds the route to market in a highly cost-effective manner. For more information on what type of taste research you need for what kind of research question, please contact Johan Puttemans (j.puttemans@rogil.eu)
